Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about buying or selling industrial automation and MRO parts with American Industrial Parts Group? You'll find answers to our most common questions below. Don't see what you're looking for? Contact us and we'll get back to you fast.
Buying From AIPG
What types of parts do you sell?
We sell new, surplus, and used industrial automation and MRO components including PLCs, VFDs, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, sensors, pneumatic components, terminal blocks, fuses, disconnect switches, and more. We carry parts from major brands including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Omron, Schneider Electric, Eaton, SMC, WAGO, GE, IFM, and Square D.
What is the condition of your parts?
Every listing clearly states the condition in the product title and description. We use the following condition grades:
- New / New in Box (NIB) — unused, original packaging, never installed
- New Surplus — unused, may or may not have original packaging, pulled from surplus stock
- Used / Tested — previously installed, pulled from service, inspected and tested functional
If you have questions about the condition of a specific part before purchasing, contact us.
Are your parts tested?
Used parts are inspected prior to listing. If you require additional testing documentation or have specific application requirements, contact us before ordering.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. All parts sold by American Industrial Parts Group are covered under our warranty. Warranty periods vary by product condition and are noted in each listing. Manufacturer warranties are not transferred with surplus or used parts — AIPG's warranty covers our sold inventory. If you receive a part that is not as described or does not function as expected, contact us immediately and we will make it right.
Are you an authorized distributor?
No. American Industrial Parts Group is an independent supplier of surplus and secondary-market industrial parts. We are not affiliated with or an authorized distributor of any manufacturer. This allows us to offer competitive pricing on parts that may be discontinued, hard to find, or have long lead times through official channels. All brand names and trademarks referenced are the property of their respective owners.
Can I save money compared to buying new from a distributor?
Yes — in many cases significantly. Surplus and used industrial parts typically sell for 30–70% below manufacturer list price, making them an ideal option for maintenance, repair, and operations budgets, especially for older or discontinued equipment.
What if I can't find the part I need?
Contact us with your part number, manufacturer, and quantity needed. We source inventory continuously through auctions and lot purchases and may be able to locate what you need. We're happy to help track down hard-to-find and obsolete parts.
Do you offer volume or reseller discounts?
Yes. Contact us for volume pricing on multi-unit orders or if you are a reseller or distributor looking for a reliable surplus source.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and other payment methods available at checkout. Orders are processed securely through our Shopify-powered store.
Do you ship internationally?
Contact us for international shipping inquiries. International orders are handled on a case-by-case basis. Buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties, taxes, or customs fees.
How fast do you ship?
In-stock orders are typically shipped within 1–2 business days. You will receive a tracking number once your order ships. Expedited shipping options are available at checkout.
What carriers do you use?
We ship via UPS, FedEx, and USPS depending on package size, weight, and destination. Carrier selection is made to ensure safe and timely delivery.
What is your return policy?
If you receive a part that is not as described or arrives damaged, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will resolve it. Returns are accepted on eligible items in original condition. Please review our Refund Policy for full details or contact us with any questions.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Contact us immediately with photos of the damage and packaging. We will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

What condition do parts need to be in?
We purchase new, surplus, and used parts in good resellable condition. Original packaging is a plus but not required. Even older or discontinued parts may be of interest — contact us with what you have and we'll let you know.
How do I get a quote?
Send us a list of your parts — part numbers, quantities, and condition (new, surplus, or used). We'll review and respond with an offer. Contact us to get started.
How quickly will I get an offer?
We respond to surplus inquiries fast. Most quotes are turned around within 1–2 business days depending on the size of the list.
How do I ship parts to you?
Once we agree on a price, we'll provide shipping instructions. For larger lots, we can arrange freight pickup. For smaller shipments, we'll provide guidance on the best way to get parts to us safely.
How and when do I get paid?
Payment is issued promptly after parts are received and inspected. We'll confirm payment method at the time of the offer.
Do you buy single parts or only full lots?
Both. We buy individual parts as well as full pallets, storeroom cleanouts, and plant closure inventory. No quantity is too small or too large to ask about.
What if I'm not sure what I have?
Send us what you've got — part numbers, photos, or even just a description of the equipment. We know industrial parts and can help identify what you have and whether it's something we're interested in.
