Refund policy

Return and Refund Policy

Effective Date: July 14, 2026
Last Updated: July 14, 2026

This Return and Refund Policy applies to purchases made through americanindustrialpartsgroup.com

By placing an order with American Industrial Parts Group (“AIPG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you acknowledge and agree to this policy.

1. Return Period

Unless a product listing expressly states otherwise, eligible products may be returned within 30 calendar days after confirmed delivery.

A return request must be submitted within the 30-day return period. Products returned without prior authorization, shipped after the return deadline, or delivered to an unauthorized address may be refused.

The return period begins on the date the shipping carrier records the order as delivered.

2. Return Authorization Required

Before returning a product, contact us at:

support@americanindustrialpartsgroup.com

Please include:

  • Your name;

  • Order number;

  • Product name and part number;

  • Reason for the return;

  • Photographs of the product and packaging when requested; and

  • A description of any alleged defect, damage, shortage, or discrepancy.

Approved returns will be issued return instructions and, when applicable, a return authorization number.

Receiving return authorization does not guarantee that a refund will be approved. All returned products are subject to inspection and verification.

Do not return products to the address shown on the original shipping label unless specifically instructed to do so.

3. Return Eligibility

To qualify for a refund, the returned product must:

  • Be the exact product originally shipped by American Industrial Parts Group;

  • Be returned within the authorized return period;

  • Be in substantially the same condition in which it was received;

  • Include all components, accessories, manuals, cables, connectors, mounting hardware, and other items originally supplied;

  • Retain all original serial numbers, date codes, labels, security markings, warranty stickers, and identifying features;

  • Be packaged adequately to prevent damage during return transportation; and

  • Comply with all return instructions provided by American Industrial Parts Group.

Products returned in a different condition from the condition in which they were delivered may qualify for a reduced refund or may be rejected, to the extent permitted by law.

4. Buyer-Remorse and Compatibility Returns

Buyer-remorse returns include, but are not limited to, returns because:

  • The customer ordered the wrong product;

  • The product is no longer needed;

  • The customer changed their mind;

  • The product does not fit the customer’s intended application;

  • The customer failed to verify compatibility;

  • The customer selected the wrong model, part number, revision, voltage, firmware, or specification;

  • The customer found the product elsewhere at a lower price; or

  • The customer purchased the product by mistake.

For an approved buyer-remorse or compatibility return:

  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs;

  • Original shipping and handling charges are nonrefundable, except where required by law;

  • Expedited or special-delivery charges are nonrefundable;

  • Freight, liftgate, residential-delivery, limited-access, customs, brokerage, and similar charges are nonrefundable; and

  • The product must satisfy all return-condition requirements.

American Industrial Parts Group does not guarantee compatibility with a customer’s machine, system, controller, software, network, process, or application unless compatibility was expressly guaranteed in writing before purchase.

Customers are responsible for verifying the exact manufacturer, model, part number, revision, voltage, current, firmware, communication protocol, dimensions, connectors, and other application requirements before ordering.

5. Incorrect Products

If we shipped a product that is materially different from the product ordered, contact us promptly and within the 30-day return period.

After verifying the error, American Industrial Parts Group may provide:

  • A prepaid return shipping label;

  • A replacement product, subject to availability;

  • A full refund; or

  • Another mutually acceptable resolution.

The customer must not install, modify, disassemble, repair, or continue using a product believed to have been shipped incorrectly.

6. Products Damaged During Shipping

Shipping damage must be reported as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

When reporting shipping damage, provide:

  • The order number;

  • Photographs of the complete product;

  • Photographs of the outer shipping container;

  • Photographs of the shipping label;

  • Photographs of all internal packaging materials;

  • Photographs clearly showing the damage; and

  • Any delivery receipt or carrier documentation.

The customer must retain the damaged product, shipping carton, pallet, crate, cushioning, labels, and all other packaging materials until the claim has been resolved.

Do not discard packaging, attempt repairs, install the product, return the shipment, or dispose of the product without instructions from American Industrial Parts Group.

Failure to retain the product and packaging or to provide requested documentation may affect our ability to obtain compensation from the carrier and may delay or prevent resolution of the claim.

Depending on the circumstances, we may offer:

  • A replacement;

  • A full refund;

  • A partial refund;

  • A repair arrangement; or

  • Another appropriate resolution.

7. Defective or Materially Misrepresented Products

If you believe a product is defective or materially different from its listing, contact us within the 30-day return period.

You may be required to provide:

  • Photographs or video;

  • A description of the installation and application;

  • Equipment or system information;

  • Test results;

  • Error codes;

  • Wiring information;

  • Voltage or power-supply information; and

  • Other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim.

Do not disassemble, modify, repair, program, install, or continue operating a product after discovering a suspected defect unless we authorize you to do so.

After inspection and verification, we may provide:

  • A replacement, subject to availability;

  • A full refund;

  • A partial refund;

  • A repair arrangement; or

  • Another appropriate resolution.

When we confirm that a product was materially misrepresented or defective when delivered, American Industrial Parts Group will ordinarily provide or reimburse reasonable standard return shipping.

Return shipping may remain the customer’s responsibility when inspection shows that the product:

  • Functions as described;

  • Was ordered incorrectly;

  • Is incompatible with the customer’s application;

  • Was damaged after delivery;

  • Was improperly installed, programmed, wired, handled, stored, or operated; or

  • Was subjected to conditions outside its specifications.

8. Testing Statements

Any testing performed by American Industrial Parts Group is limited to the testing expressly described in the applicable product listing.

Descriptions such as:

  • “Tested”;

  • “Powers on”;

  • “Working when removed”;

  • “Removed from operating equipment”; or

  • “Operational when removed”

do not mean that every function, input, output, communication port, memory location, accessory, firmware feature, or operating mode has been tested.

“Powers on” means only that the product demonstrated a power response during limited observation. It does not mean the product was fully function-tested, calibrated, certified, or tested under load.

A product does not qualify as defective solely because it requires programming, configuration, calibration, licensing, compatible accessories, specific firmware, application engineering, or installation by qualified personnel.

9. Used and Surplus Products

Used, refurbished, new-surplus, and new-open-box products may show characteristics consistent with their stated condition, including:

  • Cosmetic wear;

  • Scratches;

  • Scuffs;

  • Discoloration;

  • Dust;

  • Residue;

  • Writing;

  • Previous inventory labels;

  • Packaging damage;

  • Shelf wear;

  • Installation marks; or

  • Evidence of prior use.

A return may not be approved solely because a product displays condition characteristics that were disclosed in the listing or visible in the product photographs.

“New surplus” does not necessarily mean that a product:

  • Was purchased through an authorized distribution channel;

  • Is currently manufactured;

  • Includes current retail packaging;

  • Includes every item originally supplied by the manufacturer; or

  • Is covered by an original manufacturer warranty.

10. Manufacturer Warranties

American Industrial Parts Group is an independent reseller and is not an authorized distributor or representative of the manufacturers displayed on this website unless expressly stated.

Because products may be sourced through surplus, liquidation, auction, removed-equipment, reseller, or other secondary-market channels, original manufacturer warranties may be unavailable, invalid, expired, nontransferable, limited to the original purchaser, or otherwise not honored by the manufacturer.

American Industrial Parts Group does not administer, extend, reinstate, guarantee, or represent the continued validity of any manufacturer warranty.

The absence or rejection of manufacturer warranty coverage does not independently make a product eligible for return.

Any separate warranty offered directly by American Industrial Parts Group will be expressly stated in the applicable product listing or written sales agreement.

11. Nonreturnable Products

The following products are not eligible for return when clearly identified as nonreturnable or final sale in the product listing:

  • Products sold “as is”;

  • Products listed as “for parts or not working”;

  • Final-sale or clearance products;

  • Products specifically sourced or ordered for a customer;

  • Customized, modified, configured, programmed, or calibrated products;

  • Products sold under a separately negotiated nonreturnable agreement;

  • Products with removed, altered, obscured, or mismatched serial numbers or security markings;

  • Products damaged by improper installation, wiring, programming, storage, handling, modification, misuse, neglect, accident, contamination, or unauthorized repair;

  • Products exposed to excessive voltage, current, heat, moisture, chemicals, impact, static discharge, or environmental conditions outside their specifications; and

  • Products that cannot legally or safely be resold after return.

This section does not eliminate rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived, including rights involving products that were not delivered, were materially misrepresented, or arrived damaged because of circumstances attributable to American Industrial Parts Group.

12. Installed, Programmed, or Modified Products

A return may be rejected or reduced in value if the product has been:

  • Installed;

  • Energized;

  • Wired;

  • Programmed;

  • Configured;

  • Calibrated;

  • Disassembled;

  • Opened beyond what was reasonably necessary for inspection;

  • Repaired;

  • Modified;

  • Exposed to contaminants; or

  • Otherwise changed after delivery.

Industrial electrical and automation products must be installed and evaluated by appropriately trained and qualified personnel.

Evidence of improper installation, reverse polarity, overvoltage, short circuit, incorrect wiring, physical abuse, unauthorized repair, broken seals, damaged terminals, or environmental exposure may make the product ineligible for refund.

13. Serial Numbers and Product Identification

American Industrial Parts Group may record or photograph:

  • Serial numbers;

  • Date codes;

  • Revision numbers;

  • Firmware information;

  • Security marks;

  • Internal and external labels;

  • Physical characteristics;

  • Product weight;

  • Packaging; and

  • Other identifying information

before shipment.

Returned products will be compared with our shipment records.

A refund will be denied when the returned product is not the exact product originally shipped or when identifying information has been removed, altered, obscured, substituted, or tampered with.

Suspected return fraud, product substitution, component removal, or misuse may be reported to the applicable payment provider, shipping carrier, marketplace, insurer, or law-enforcement authority.

14. Return Shipping

Unless the return results from a confirmed shipping error, shipping damage, defect present at delivery, or material listing error attributable to American Industrial Parts Group, the customer is responsible for:

  • Return shipping charges;

  • Adequate packaging;

  • Tracking;

  • Insurance;

  • Signature confirmation when appropriate; and

  • Risk of loss or damage during return transportation.

We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing sufficient insurance based on the product’s value.

American Industrial Parts Group is not responsible for an unauthorized return or a return that is lost, damaged, misdirected, or delivered to the wrong address.

A customer must not mark a return shipment “Return to Sender” without prior authorization.

15. Packaging Returned Products

Products must be packed using materials and methods appropriate for industrial equipment.

The customer is responsible for protecting the returned product from:

  • Impact;

  • Vibration;

  • Compression;

  • Moisture;

  • Electrostatic discharge;

  • Terminal damage;

  • Connector damage;

  • Movement inside the carton; and

  • Other foreseeable transportation hazards.

Heavy products must not be returned in weak, damaged, or undersized packaging.

Electronic components should be returned in appropriate antistatic packaging when applicable.

Damage caused by inadequate return packaging may result in a reduced refund or denial of the return.

16. Return Inspection

Returned products are inspected before a refund is approved.

Inspection may include verification of:

  • Product identity;

  • Serial number;

  • Date code;

  • Revision;

  • Condition;

  • Included components;

  • Security markings;

  • Signs of installation;

  • Signs of damage or modification;

  • Packaging; and

  • The stated reason for return.

Testing may be performed when reasonably necessary.

We will notify the customer if additional information is required or if the return does not satisfy this policy.

17. Refund Amount

For an approved return, the refund may include the product’s purchase price and applicable taxes.

Unless otherwise required by law or approved by American Industrial Parts Group:

  • Original shipping charges are nonrefundable for buyer-remorse, compatibility, or ordering-error returns;

  • Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility;

  • Expedited shipping charges are nonrefundable;

  • Freight and special-delivery services are nonrefundable;

  • Customs duties, brokerage fees, tariffs, and import taxes are nonrefundable by American Industrial Parts Group; and

  • Charges imposed by third parties may be nonrefundable.

No restocking fee will ordinarily be charged for a timely, authorized return received complete and in the same condition in which it was delivered.

A reasonable deduction may be made, to the extent permitted by law, when a returned product has lost value because it is:

  • Incomplete;

  • Damaged;

  • Altered;

  • Improperly handled;

  • Missing accessories;

  • Missing packaging;

  • Used beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect it; or

  • Returned in a condition different from the condition in which it was delivered.

Any deduction will be based on the product’s actual loss in value and the circumstances of the return.

18. Refund Method and Timing

Approved refunds will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method.

We generally do not issue refunds through a different payment method, to another person, or to an unrelated account.

Refund processing begins after the returned product has been received, inspected, and approved.

Once approved, refunds are generally initiated within five business days. The customer’s bank, credit-card issuer, payment processor, or other financial institution may require additional time to post the refund.

Shipping, customs, banking, currency-conversion, and third-party processing charges may not be recoverable.

19. Exchanges and Replacements

Exchanges are subject to product availability.

Because many products are surplus, discontinued, obsolete, used, or individually identified, an identical replacement may not be available.

When an exchange is approved but a replacement is unavailable, we may issue an appropriate refund instead.

Replacement products do not automatically restart or extend the original return period unless expressly stated in writing or required by law.

20. Partial Refunds

A partial refund may be offered when:

  • The customer elects to keep a product with a documented issue;

  • A nonessential accessory is missing;

  • Cosmetic or packaging damage does not materially affect operation;

  • A returned product has lost value;

  • The parties agree to a reasonable price adjustment; or

  • Another partial resolution is appropriate.

No customer is required to accept a partial refund instead of an available remedy required by applicable law.

21. Canceled Orders

Order-cancellation requests must be submitted promptly to:

support@americanindustrialpartsgroup.com

We will make reasonable efforts to cancel an order before shipment, but cancellation is not guaranteed after processing begins.

An order generally cannot be canceled after it has been transferred to the shipping carrier. The customer may instead be required to receive the order and follow the applicable return process.

If an order is canceled before shipment, an approved refund will be issued to the original payment method.

22. Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

Refusing delivery or failing to retrieve a shipment does not constitute an authorized return.

When an order is returned because of:

  • Refusal by the recipient;

  • An incorrect or incomplete address;

  • Failure to accept delivery;

  • Failure to retrieve a held shipment;

  • Unpaid customs duties or taxes;

  • An unavailable delivery location; or

  • Another circumstance attributable to the customer,

any approved refund may be reduced by:

  • Original shipping charges;

  • Return shipping charges;

  • Carrier fees;

  • Storage fees;

  • Customs or brokerage charges; and

  • Other nonrecoverable expenses,

to the extent permitted by law.

23. International Returns

International customers must obtain authorization before returning a product.

The customer is responsible for:

  • Return transportation;

  • Export and import documentation;

  • Duties;

  • Taxes;

  • Brokerage fees;

  • Customs charges;

  • Insurance; and

  • Compliance with applicable laws.

Return documentation must accurately describe the shipment as returned merchandise when appropriate. American Industrial Parts Group will not falsify customs forms, product values, tariff classifications, country of origin, or other governmental documentation.

We are not responsible for a return that is delayed, detained, rejected, abandoned, or seized by customs or another governmental authority because of incomplete or inaccurate documentation supplied by the customer.

24. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Customers should contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute so that we have a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.

Initiating a chargeback does not alter the customer’s obligation to preserve the product, packaging, shipment evidence, and other relevant documentation.

We may provide the payment provider with:

  • Order records;

  • Tracking information;

  • Delivery confirmation;

  • Customer communications;

  • Product photographs;

  • Serial-number records;

  • Return records;

  • Policy acceptance records; and

  • Other evidence relevant to the dispute.

Nothing in this section prevents a customer from exercising lawful payment-dispute rights.

25. Abuse and Return Fraud

We reserve the right to restrict future purchases or returns when permitted by law and when there is reasonable evidence of:

  • Return fraud;

  • Product substitution;

  • False claims;

  • Repeated abuse of the return process;

  • Component removal;

  • Unauthorized modification;

  • Serial-number alteration;

  • Chargeback abuse; or

  • Other deceptive or unlawful conduct.

Any restriction will not eliminate obligations we have concerning an existing transaction under applicable law.

26. Relationship to Other Policies

This Return and Refund Policy should be read together with our:

  • Terms of Service;

  • Legal Notice;

  • Shipping Policy; and

  • Privacy Policy.

If a product listing, quotation, invoice, or separately signed agreement contains return terms that conflict with this general policy, the more specific terms applicable to that transaction will control.

Nothing in this policy limits any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.

27. Changes to This Policy

American Industrial Parts Group may revise this Return and Refund Policy periodically.

Revised terms become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.

Changes will apply prospectively and will not retroactively alter the terms applicable to a completed purchase unless required by law or agreed by the parties.

The “Last Updated” date at the top identifies the most recent revision.
