Beckman's resistor heritage began in 1940 with the Helipot helical potentiometer, a precision variable resistive divider. Beckman developed cermet resistive materials in the mid-1950s and pioneered thick film materials for compact resistor networks in the early 1960s. The business later operated as Beckman Industrial and continues today as BI Technologies, a brand of TT Electronics.
