New open box Bussmann LPJ-40SP Low-Peak dual-element time-delay Class J fuse, rated 40 A at 600 VAC with a 300 kA interrupting rating, and 300 VDC with a 100 kA interrupting rating. The label reads "Cooper Bussmann Low-Peak Ultimate Protection, Dual-Element Time-Delay Class J Fuse, LPJ-40SP," with UL Listed, CSA Type D and CE marks and "Cooper Bussmann, LLC, St. Louis, MO 63178, Assembled in Mexico." Code G13 is printed on the label. The fuse has not been installed. The label is clean and readable. The copper end caps show heavy tarnish and discoloration from storage, as pictured.
The LPJ-SP is Bussmann's Low-Peak Class J time-delay fuse. It holds 500% of its rating for at least 10 seconds, so motor inrush and transformer magnetizing current pass without nuisance opening. Its current-limiting design gives a high level of protection for motor branch circuits, feeders, panelboards and control circuits. The Class J dimensions reject other fuse classes, so the wrong fuse can't be installed.

Direct replacement for Bussmann LPJ-40SP. It fits 60 A Class J fuse holders and blocks, such as Bussmann CH60J and JM600-series 60 A holders, and 60 A Class J fused disconnects. It will not fit 30 A Class J holders, which are sized for 13/16 x 2-1/4 in fuses. Equivalent Class J time-delay 40 A fuses include Mersen AJT40 and Littelfuse JTD040. The indicating version is the LPJ-40SPI. Confirm amperage and characteristics against your equipment before substituting.
