Lot of 10 new old stock National Semiconductor DM74LS85N 4-bit magnitude comparators in 16-pin plastic DIPs. Each is marked with the National Semiconductor logo, "7931," and "DM74LS85N." Date code 7931 places manufacture in week 31 of 1979. Never installed, with clean, unsoldered leads. Light surface marks on the packages, as pictured.
The 74LS85 compares two 4-bit binary or BCD words and outputs A greater than B, A less than B, or A equal to B. Cascading inputs let several chips compare longer words without external gates. With ten pieces you can build up to a 40-bit comparator, or keep spares for repair work.
