DESCRIPTION
New old stock Motorola 2N4393 N-channel JFET analog switch in a hermetic TO-18 metal can with gold-plated leads. Case marked with the Motorola logo and "2N4393." Never installed; leads are straight and unsoldered.
The 2N4393 is a low on-resistance JFET built for analog switching and chopper circuits. It is the lowest-cutoff-voltage member of the 2N4391 / 2N4392 / 2N4393 family.
Features:
N-channel JFET for analog switching and chopper use
100Ω maximum on-resistance
Gate-source cutoff voltage -0.5V to -3V
5mA minimum IDSS
40V gate-source breakdown
14pF maximum input capacitance, 3.5pF maximum reverse transfer capacitance
Fast switching: 15ns maximum turn-on, 50ns maximum turn-off
Hermetic TO-18 metal can with gold-plated leads
Original Motorola manufacture
Compatibility:
Direct replacement for 2N4393 in TO-18 through-hole positions. Same family as the 2N4391 and 2N4392, which have higher cutoff voltages and lower on-resistance; check VGS(off) requirements before substituting between them.
Q&A
Q: Is the 2N4393 N-channel or P-channel?
A: N-channel JFET.
Q: What is the difference between the 2N4391, 2N4392, and 2N4393?
A: They are the same JFET switch family graded by cutoff voltage and on-resistance. The 2N4393 has the lowest cutoff voltage (-0.5V to -3V) and a 100Ω maximum on-resistance.
Q: What is the 2N4393 used for?
A: Analog switching, choppers, sample-and-hold, and multiplexer circuits.
Q: What package is this?
A: TO-18 hermetic metal can with three gold-plated leads.
