MPN: 2N5344
Type: Bipolar Power Transistor
Polarity: PNP
Material: Silicon
Collector-Emitter Sustaining Voltage (VCEO(sus)): 250V minimum
Collector Current: 1A
Transition Frequency (fT): 60MHz minimum
Package: TO-66 Hermetic Metal Can, Gold-Plated Flange
Mounting: Chassis/Heatsink, 2-Hole Flange
Date Code: 7926
Condition: New
Quantity: 1
DESCRIPTION
New old stock Motorola 2N5344 PNP silicon power transistor in a hermetically sealed TO-66 metal can with a gold-plated mounting flange. It is marked with the Motorola logo, "2N5344," and "7926," plus a red inspection mark. Date code 7926 places manufacture in week 26 of 1979. Never installed, with clean leads. Light surface tarnish on the flange, as pictured.
The 2N5344 is a 1 amp, high-voltage PNP power transistor designed for high-voltage switching and amplifier applications.
Features:
PNP silicon power transistor
250V minimum collector-emitter sustaining voltage
1A collector current
60MHz minimum transition frequency
Hermetic TO-66 metal package
Gold-plated flange for heatsink or chassis mounting
Original Motorola manufacture, 1979
Compatibility:
Direct replacement for the 2N5344 from any manufacturer, including New Jersey Semi, Seme LAB and Inchange 2N5344 parts. The 2N5344A is the closely related A-grade version; check its datasheet ratings before substituting. On the TO-66 package the metal case is the collector, so use an insulator kit when mounting to a grounded heatsink.
Q&A
Q: Is the 2N5344 NPN or PNP?
A: PNP.
Q: What is the voltage rating?
A: 250V minimum collector-emitter sustaining voltage, with a 1A collector current rating.
Q: What package is this?
A: TO-66, the smaller hermetic diamond-flange metal package, with a gold-plated flange.
Q: Is the case connected to a terminal?
A: Yes. On TO-66 transistors the case is the collector. Insulate it from a grounded heatsink.
Q: How old is this part?
A: Date code 7926, which places manufacture in 1979.
